Children will enjoy reading Ann Marie Hannon's book, titled A Going Home Surprise. In this book, you follow a pre-teen girl named Kathy as she saves a stray kitten who is in a fragile condition. Read this book to find out what happens to the poor kitten.

This book was written to assist parents in determining whether or not their child or children are mature enough to care for a pet. They will also gain an understanding of the benefits that come with owning a pet, as well as tips on how to discuss the responsibility of a pet with their children. The narrative is presented from the perspective of Kathy's mother in this tale. The illustrations were lively and full of vivid colour. The fact that the sentences are rhymed makes it even more likely that a child will pay attention to what is being said.

I like that this book can help a child learn responsibility and routine, as well as when it is the right time to get a pet and how to care for it properly. I was very happy to see that the sentences were straightforward and clear in order to keep the attention of my son, who is only four years old. In addition to that, I appreciated that the book educates children on the importance of rescuing animals.

I am giving this book a perfect score of five out of five stars because there is nothing about it that I did not enjoy. Even the sentences are brief, and the book itself has relatively few pages, making it an excellent choice for young children. The author even offers assistance to the parents by addressing their concerns right at the beginning of the book, which is something that I appreciate. The fact that I did not come across even a single mistake leads me to believe that the editing in this book was impeccable.

Children who are pleading for a pet but don't realise the commitment involved would benefit from reading this book.

My four-year-old niece is a pet lover. She loves cats so much. This is a perfect book to read for her. Our nature is to save, so I hope we continue doing that in any way. I hope the number of people who rescue pets will increase. Thanks for your wonderful review, Christell!
