Doctoroo and the Case of the Red-Hot Hawaiians by Dr. Rachel B. Wellner is a children’s book in the Doctoroo series. Dr. Marsha Roo and his friends are playing rugby when suddenly, upon checking her phone messages, she and her team have to fly to Hawaii. What is so urgent that she has to leave whatever she’s doing? On their arrival in Hawaii, Doctoroo and the team diagnose dancers for signs and symptoms of red, itchy, and hot skin. Will they be able to rule out, determine, and treat the dancers before the festival? On their quest, they stumble across instances such as a volcano and the banana spider. These events lead to a successful festival at the end of the day.

I enjoyed reading this so much. Character illustrations and graphics create creative and thoughtful visual imagery. The banana spider looks like a banana and a spider at the same time! The naming of characters beautifully depicts character animals. Dr. Marsha Roo and Terence Toad are a kangaroo and a toad. Despite the fact that most of the book is in a dialogue style, it is narrated in the third person. "This means we will climb a volcano" is one of the moments that left me speechless. As well as being informative, the book tells children how to avoid harmful sunburns.

To conclude, the depiction of the book is excellent, as it well ties into the text. The book is well written, with simple medical jargon. I did not find any grammar mistakes, so I believe the book was flawlessly edited. It was a pleasure to read this book, and I didn't find anything to dislike about it. I know I am a young adult, but I really look forward to experiencing the next book in the series. I recommend the book to children of ages 4 and 8, adolescents, teenagers, and anyone who enjoys children’s books, especially those about medicine. Therefore, I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars.
