As a child, did you ever have to live with your grandparents for a while? I never had that experience with my grandparents; I only got to visit them sometimes. Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures by Catherine Anna Pepe has 158 pages and 17 chapters.

In the book, John and Jen Miller are the parents of Mary Grace Miller and Donny Miller. Donny was born with Down syndrome. One day, when they all went to the Sedgwick County Zoo, Donny suddenly went missing. Donny has Down syndrome, so how could he find his way? His sister heard the announcement and ran back to their parents. She reassured them that she and her dad had started looking for Donny. Did they find him? Read this book to also find out how Mary Grace and Donny were able to travel through California without their parents.

The love between the siblings in this book is incredible, and I love it. That's one of the things that stood out for me: how Mary Grace took care of her brother was so nice. Many kids might feel embarrassed about having a sibling with a disorder, but Mary Grace was different; she showed Donny love and treated him with love. I also love how their parents understand them, like when Mary Grace wanted to buy older clothes. It shows that some parents are very understanding and pay attention to their children's feelings.

There's nothing I dislike about this book; the story, the twist, and the bravery and love shown in this book are really great. I didn't find any mistakes while reading it, and because of these reasons, I give it five out of five stars. I recommend it to young children who experience bullying in school or anyone looking for a book that teaches children about love and bravery.

The reviewer's appreciation for the sibling bond between Mary Grace and Donny is evident and adds a personal touch to their analysis. Their admiration for how Mary Grace cares for her brother and treats him with love despite his disorder is a testament to the story's emotional resonance. The mention of the parents' understanding and support further highlights the family dynamics and emotional depth of the book.

The author highlight the importance of empathy and acceptance within a family, and it's lovely that the parents are portrayed as understanding and attentive to their children's feelings.

This book is so much more than a children's book. Donny and Mary Grace are just good kids loved by almost everyone around them. I was mostly endeared by Donny's cheerful attitude. Great review.
