Dr. Marsha Roo and her team are playing Rugby somewhere in Australia when she receives a text message. The text appears to contain information regarding a case. After reading the text, in preparation for action, Dr. Marsha Roo becomes Doctoroo. She informs the team that they will be flying to Hawaii.

Upon arrival, the team witnesses three young pigs practising the hula for an important event. They notice that the cheeks of the dancers are red. However, there is no clue as to what the cause of the issue is. Doctoroo and her team begin the adventure of finding out what the cause of the issue may be. What do they discover?

Doctoroo and the Case of the Red-Hot Hawaiians was written by Dr. Rachel Wellner and illustrated by Irina Dringova. I loved many things about this book, the first being the way it was written. The book was presented in the form of slides, and I believe this will be very captivating to the intended audience. The texts were written on the slides, and illustrations of the events were placed right beside them. We could clearly see Dr. Marsha Roo's transformation into Doctoroo. I believe this will fascinate children, as it almost seems like a superhero transformation. It also passed along the message that doctors are superheroes too.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike about this book. I found it very educational. First, I learned about the culture and language of Hawaiians, and I also got to learn a lot about harmful substances, such as poison ivy, during Doctoroo's investigation. The book passes across several useful messages in very few pages, and to top it all off, it contains a well-rhymed poem that children will enjoy reciting. The book was exceptionally well edited.

The book receives a deserved rating of five out of five, as I found no negative aspects while reading it. The book's positive aspects ensured that it did not receive a lower rating. Children will find this book fascinating and enlightening. I will recommend it to children between the ages of 5 and 10.
