Ten-year-old Mary Grace, Donny, who was five years old, and their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Miller, lived happily in Wichita. Mrs. Miller worked as a civil engineer, while Mr. Miller was a priest and rector at St. James Episcopal Church. Every day was enjoyed by the family.

The Miller family goes on a delightful excursion to a local zoo at the start of the tale. Donny separates from them when they are visiting the zoo, which leads to a hunt to find him. They eventually find Donny, and they all happily go back to their homes. Up until Mr. and Mrs. Miller accepted a two-year missionary assignment from the church to work in Africa, things were going well for the Miller family. Mary Grace and Donny would consequently spend the entire trip in California with their grandparents. What experiences do Mary Grace and her brother have in store in California?

This fascinating book imparts important lessons to both adults and youngsters. Mr. and Mrs. Miller's thoughtfulness and concern for their kids are admirable. When Mary Grace was being accompanied by Mrs. Miller on a shopping trip, she once picked out a pair of denim jeans that had holes in them. Mrs. Miller inquired of her daughter as to why. Her mother didn't become irritated, even if Mary Grace's response wasn't satisfactory. She was aware that Mary Grace was maturing and starting to consider new ideas. I also appreciate how Donny's entire family works to make each day of his life happy and satisfying.

Mary Grace's deep affection for her brother is moving. When she is depressed, she keeps her emotions to herself so as not to bother Donny. Her constant wish is to always see her brother happy.

I like how this book aggressively emphasises the detrimental effects of bullying and urges kids to stay away from it. It is simple to read and packed to the brim with important lessons for kids. I had a hard time finding anything wrong with this book, and the author's conversational writing style is interesting.

The book is also flawlessly edited, with no faults that I could find. Therefore, I would give it a score of 5 out of 5. Children should read this book because it teaches them many important lessons. Reading it can help adults better understand how to build relationships with children and communicate with them.
