Living and Learning by Jasmine Navarro is a children’s book explaining the benefits of learning from mistakes. It is written in rhymes and is suitable for young children. The book is relatively short but delivers an important message for young minds.

Trey is a young boy who learns and plays at school. He receives high grades mostly but struggles with his mathematics test. Trey is upset that his results are not the best reflection of himself. The teacher uses this experience to explain the value of learning from errors to make a person academically strong.

The book contains attractive and vibrant illustrations, and the text is within them. The book is appealing to children, and the drawings help express the story and the messages conveyed in the text. The text is simple with a rhyming style. The artwork shows parts of the story in a visual way that is not necessarily in the text. The reader will appreciate the text and illustrations in equal measure.

I loved the messages in this book. Children need to understand that it is ok to make mistakes and that we learn from them. The story shows the emotional impact on a child when they don’t achieve initially, but the book displays that this is perfectly normal and that by learning from mistakes, we can prosper. It is beneficial for children to realise that learning is not about winning or losing but learning from experience. Also, it is important to remember that a child’s future cannot be affected by one test or exam. Reinforcing this may help take unnecessary pressure from children who may be anxious about their studies.

I found no errors, so the book has undergone exceptional editing. I also found nothing to dislike about it. I loved the message, the illustrations, and the rhyming text. I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars. The book is perfect for helping children understand that mistakes are part of life.

It is really important to teach the children that mistakes are part of life; it's not bad to make mistakes; what's bad is not learning from mistakes. This book is a must-have  and should be on the top ten. Children will learn more from this book, and at the same time, they will enjoy the attractive and vibrant illustrations. Well done, review. Excellent!

Every child is a learner and not all children learn from their mistakes. The review is nice but most children rarely learn from their mistakes.
