Book Review: You Are (Not) Small

Post by apaigeinabook »

I have to admit, I don’t personally see the appeal of this book, however, my daughter LOVES this book. I found it to be basic and boring but rated this book based on how much my daughter enjoys it. This book won the 2015 Theodor Seuss Geisel Award. It is about two fuzzy creatures (that is what the book description calls them, but they look like Bears to me) one that is big and one that is small but they cannot agree about who is Big and who is Small. Two surprise guest show up and prove to the creatures (bears) that your size depends on who you are standing next to. Very simple book with only a few words on each page, with cute illustrations. This book is best read to your child using a different voice for the big and small creature (bear) so young children don’t get confused on who is saying what during the creatures (bears) argument about their size. I think this is a great book for little kids who sometimes worry about being too small.
