This book is a great book for children. It highlights many concepts that kids should know. The author did an amazing job describing each aspect in the book. The way the book was worded made it interesting to read. The book talks about the life of a 10 year old Mary grace and her 5 year old brother Donny shows their life in a great way. From all the ups and down that are stated in the book all are presented in a way that the reader would not want to stop reading. It’s shows the lovely relationship between the two siblings. Mary grace who loves her brother Donny a lot, does everything to keep the smile on her brothers face.
As a children book this book deserves a rating 5 out of 5. I say this because the vocabulary used in this book was amazing. The author did not use fancy words that would have made reading and understanding the book harder. The book contains simple but effective words. Words that make reading fun not boring and tough. This book has morals lessons that children should learn. The book was not just about moral lessons but it had a funny side to it too. It showed all kinds of emotions whether it was hatred, love, happiness, or sadness.
The book gave in countless examples of kindness and love.
Overall, I loved reading this book.
Something that could have been changed in the book was pido have been visuals. Having more visuals and imagery in the book would have made the book perfect.
Also giving more background information on all the lead characters could have made the book a bit better. Maybe naming the paragraphs so the reader can expect something every time they start a new paragraph.
