Well,
Mary Grace and her little cute brother Donny suffering from Down syndrome was living with their parents happily in Kansas. Spending their holidays occasionally in zoo, enjoy their beautiful life in Wichita. But one day Mary Grace's parents had to leave for Africa for their mission for about two whole years and Mary Grace and her brother Donny left for California to live with their grandparents until their parents came from Africa.


The book Donny and Mary Grace's California adventures shows how a positive mind can change the things around you. The only way to overcome your problems is to be positive in every situation. At first Mary wasn't that happy to be in California but as the time passes she found California interesting because of the grandma gang. She become one of their members. At first day of school, Donny's day was perfect but Mary Grace found the first day of her school little boring because she didn't had any friends like she had in Wichita.


The book also talk about bullying in school but I was very glad how teachers were supportive to the children, the way they listen to their children's suggestions. Admiring them, correcting them about their mistakes politely, protecting them from bullying and took bullying very seriously which was very commendable.
I recommend this book especially to Teachers.


Overall, book was very interesting. It contains seventeen chapters and time passes by too quickly that in 5 to 10 minutes you can complete 2 to 3 chapters as they are this short. This book shows how Mary Grace look after her brother, always help him in his work, play with him, she always want her brother to see happy which was little emotional. It literally teaches you how to enjoy your life if you think positively because that's what I learn from Donny, how to take things positively and smile.


I give this book 5/5.
