Donny and Mary Grace’s California Adventures by Catherine A. Pepe is an amazing read that would keep any child intrigued. This book details the adventures of Mary Grace and her brother, Donny, in California. They travelled from Wichita to stay with their grandparents for 2 years after their parents travelled to Africa for missionary duties, something that Mary Grace was not too happy about. However, her brother, Donny, who has Down syndrome and tends to see the good in everything, is very enthusiastic about the change.

In California, Mary Grace meets the Grandma Gang, a team of grandmas who have a record of solving mysteries in the area. When Mary Jane starts having problems at school and receives some disturbing notes directed at her and her brother, she gets really upset about being in California. Now what’s really going on at school? Is Mary Grace being threatened? What will she do? Would this be another mystery for the Grandma Gang? Check out this exciting book to find out.

This book has many values that are beneficial to kids. The way Mary Grace reacted to her parents news was very predictable, but it later turned out to be an interesting adventure for her and taught her many lessons. This book had an interesting script, one that I immensely enjoyed, as the story kept me glued and amused. Donny was a sweet kid, and his character was so pleasant to read about. I also enjoyed reading about other characters, as the story was very relatable to me. It was a short and simple read, very suitable for kids, with enough qualities to keep them engaged.

I didn’t find anything negative in this book. It’s probably the best kid’s book I’ve ever read, and I’m certain other people will agree with me when they read it too. It was an amazing read, and it contained no errors, profanity, or features that diminished its positivity.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars, and I believe it is well deserving of this rating. It was exceptionally well edited, and the book told a story that held moral and social values.

I appropriately recommend this book to parents, especially those who have children with special needs, as it portrays a story that would be highly beneficial to their kids. If you’re one of them, I ascertain that this book would be of great value to you. Get yours now.
