This is a captivating book that tells the story of two siblings who face a big change in their lives. The book is full of adventure, mystery, and valuable lessons for children and adults alike. It is a book that celebrates family, diversity, and resilience.

Mary Grace is a 10-year-old girl from Kansas who loves her family and her home. Her younger brother Donny, who is 5 years old and has Down syndrome, is her best friend and companion. They have a happy life with their parents, who are missionaries. But everything changes when their parents have to go to Kenya for two years to help the people there. Mary Grace and Donny have to leave their home and go to California to live with their grandparents, whom they barely know. Mary Grace is not happy about this and feels angry and scared. But she tries to be strong for Donny, who is excited about the new adventure.

The book is a wonderful story that shows how children can cope with change and overcome challenges. The author writes in a way that makes the reader feel the emotions of the characters and empathize with them. The book also teaches children about the importance of being independent, respectful, and tolerant of others. For example, Mary Grace learns to appreciate her grandparents' different lifestyle and culture, and to make new friends at school. She also learns to stand up for herself and Donny when they face bullying. The book also shows how bullying can affect children and how adults can help them deal with it.

The book also highlights the special bond between Mary Grace and Donny, who support each other through thick and thin. They have fun together, play games, read books, and explore their new surroundings. They also comfort each other when they miss their parents or feel homesick. They show each other unconditional love and acceptance, regardless of their differences. They are an inspiration for anyone who has a sibling or a friend with special needs.

The book is a must-read for anyone who loves stories about family, friendship, and growth. It is a book that will inspire readers of all ages and make them smile. It is a perfect book for children and families who want to learn more about different cultures and lifestyles. The book deserves a 5-star rating for its excellent writing, editing, and message. There was nothing I disliked about the book. It was a joy to read from start to finish. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
