Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures by Catherine A. Pepe is an intriguing children's book about the Miller family. A lovely family of four that consists of Mr. Miller, a priest; his wife, Mrs. Miller, a civil engineer; and his two children, Mary Grace and her younger brother Donny.

In the town of Wichita, Kansas, the family lived happily and spent time at the Sedgwick County Zoo for recreation. On a certain day, the parents communicated to the children that they would have to move to California to stay with their grandparents' for the next two years, during which the parents would be in Africa on behalf of St. James Episcopal Church. This seemed unpleasant to the children, but they had no choice but to move to their grandparents' house. What were the challenges they faced as a result of their parents' absence? Pick up a copy of the book to find out.

This children's book was properly written, and I enjoyed myself reading it. I fell in love with the storyline of the book because it was very interesting and unique, and I haven't read any book similar to this. My greatest surprise was the writing style of the author and the excellent plot twists, as well as the setting of the book. They were good, and I applaud the author for that. The length of the book made it easy for me to read in one sitting because it’s a short, interesting book. The cover page of the book is unique and attractive, and I love it because it gives a clue to what the book is about.

In all sincerity, there wasn’t anything I disliked in the book because I found everything perfect about it. The character development was really superb, and the way they showed love and care towards one another, especially Donny, who has Down syndrome, was something I really admired.

I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars because of its positive aspects and also because there were no errors in the book, which shows the book was exceptionally well edited. Thanks to the author for this. I recommend the book to lovers of family and children's books because it will best pique their interest.
