[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "The Amazing Adventures of Chip and Byte" by Cameron C. Crowson.]
The revolution of technology has been a gradual process over the years, and the progress made is evident. You can see the impact of technology on everything we do if you look around. The Amazing Adventures of Chip and Byte, written by Cameron C. Crowson, is a children's book with the basic aim of enlightening children about computer hardware.
The book is presented with computer parts named Chip and Byte; they live in cyberspace and are best friends. They set out on an adventure to explore the computer hardware together. Chip was a microchip with many connections, while Byte was a friendly data unit with a round face. They journeyed to the computer tower, where they met the CPU, the brain of the computer, and other parts of it, which you will learn about by reading this enlightening book.
I enjoyed this book because of the quality of the graphics used by the author and how detailed they were. I believe that every child would be attracted to these nice pictures. The book would be a good introduction to computer parts for children, which was done perfectly. I loved how the author referred to the RAM and ROM as loyal subjects to the motherboard, as this was a creative fact. Adding a glossary in the book to explain some of these terminologies to potential readers was also a good idea.
I disliked nothing about this book because I believe the author's decision to make it a brief book was good since it was aimed at children. I didn't encounter any errors while reading, which proves that the book was flawlessly edited. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to parents with young kids because the world is evolving, so everyone should be enlightened about computers in general.
