Mary Grace, a 10-year-old girl who loves her brother dearly, is educated and vocal. The family still adores her brother, Donny, although he has Down syndrome.

Mary Grace is content with her life, but only when her parents tell her they will soon depart for Africa on a significant mission. It's awful news, but it worsens when her parents inform her that Donny and Mary Grace won't travel with them. In California, they will be staying with their grandparents. This new development has Mary Grace upset. Donny, though, is content with everything. They both had different viewpoints on this for the first time. How did they arrive at a decision? Would they profit from traveling to California?

The lovely tone and moral values that children's books impart have always made me want to read them. Each character was well-rounded and significantly influenced how the plot progressed. Mary Grace was only ten years old, yet she seemed much older than her years. Her charisma made me laugh. I also respect how her parents and grandparents raised them and taught them. They reprimanded the children so tenderly and kindly when they were in error. The youngsters received praise when they acted morally. Parents can learn something from this.

Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures covered various topics: bullying, change, helping others, separation, and love. For these topics, Catherine A. Pepe offered clear explanations. I appreciate how Donny's family accepted him despite his disabilities and showed him love and care.

The book was fantastic in every way. There was nothing about it that I disliked. There were no errors, and the tale developed progressively. It underwent flawless editing. I enjoyed reading this book. Therefore, I give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I learned more from reading this book than I had anticipated. This book restored my confidence in people.

I advise parents, especially those with impaired children, to read this book. This book will inspire them to deal with the problems that young children may confront and serve as a reminder that they are not alone in this. It should also be considered by those who appreciate adventure and the concept of relocating somewhere fresh.
