Review of The sandbox story
Marty Leum's The sandbox story is a delightful children's book. Lox is a young child who simply wants to do what he enjoys, which is building a sand city with his construction toys. However, his father was concerned that he needed to practise to make the baseball team. Once he attended tryouts and was the last player chosen, he no longer desired to play baseball. Determine Lox's response to the circumstances.
I believe that this book is a lesson for both children and their guardians. Sometimes parents force their children to do something they don't want to do, leading to bullying and a greater dislike for the activity. This book has undoubtedly taught me something, and I will make sure my son, who is similar to Lox, does not make the same mistakes. The illustrations are also evocative, and I look forward to seeing more of the artist's work. The writing was straightforward and simple, making it ideal for the intended audience.
I adored the lessons learned in this book, which were applicable to both children and their parents. I adored the illustrations, which were vibrant and contained a great deal more detail than those in other children's books. I adored the fact that Lox reminded me of my own son and that this book is ideal for him.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars because I adored every aspect of it. From the lessons in the book for both the child and the parents to the understandable illustrations, this book is a success. I believe that the book has been edited to perfection because I did not find any errors in it.
I would recommend this book to children between the ages of 4 and 8 who enjoy playing alone and being independent. Any child can learn from the lesson in this book, and I would recommend it to any child between these ages; however, because the primary character is a boy, it may be more relatable to boys, unless the child enjoys playing in the sand or baseball.
