"Unicorns Know Magic" brings a childhood fantasy to life through Charles Adkins' vibrantly illustrated children's book. With poetic rhymes that effortlessly flow, it tells the tale of four magical unicorns moving in next door and brightening the lives of their young human neighbors. A brother and sister peering out their window are amazed to see a unicorn family settle into a towering new home, explaining they were born in the stars. The unicorns (Abby, Bitsy, Chase, and Georgia) all had unique talents, and they made these children's time with them worthwhile.

There are so many things that I loved and enjoyed about this book. First, the illustrations excellently convey the whimsical nature of the story while also bringing the unicorn characters to life through their lively and daily activities. I couldn't have asked for another storyline! It was so perfect to see unicorns do various everyday tasks. Second, the writing style was excellent! This type of simple, linear storytelling is well-suited for early readers still developing literacy skills. The author, having younger readers in mind, wrote the story in a way that they would easily assimilate. Additional elements like the travel to different countries like France and the unicorns appearing at school provide fun escapism while also introducing children to new concepts and vocabulary in an approachable way.

I honestly did not dislike anything about this book, which is why I am rating it 5 out of 5 stars. For those who still carry an inner child's belief in unicorns or long to rediscover that feeling, "Unicorns Know Magic" offers an enchanting experience to be cherished. I recommend that you get a copy of this book and relive your dream, just as I have. The illustrator did a fantastic job capturing the unicorns' playful personalities and magical qualities. It's clear they had great fun envisioning and creating this imaginary world. The engaging rhyming text is also well-suited for young children starting to read on their own. The book's editing was also perfect.
