[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Mystery of the Missing Kakapo Eggs" by Brian B. Makaruk.]
The children's book "Mystery of the Missing Kakapo Eggs" was written by Brian B. Makaruk and is about a species known as the Kakapo, which is at risk of extinction. A colleague of the rangers alerted Reggie, the ranger, and Willy, the weasel, that there were Kakapo eggs that had gone missing. They did not locate any hints, despite the fact that they immediately began their investigation. Will they find the missing Kakapo eggs?
This book provides the reader with additional information regarding Kakapos, which are also referred to as owl parrots. The book contains a glossary of terminology that will help the young reader expand their vocabulary, as well as interesting facts about the birds that are included in the book. In addition, the illustrations were lively and intriguing, and they did an excellent job of expressing the text. The wording, in my opinion, is straightforward and simple to comprehend for the intended audience.
The fact that this book is based on a genuine animal and has intriguing details about that animal, as well as the fact that it is an animal that I have never heard of before, makes it very exciting to me. The images were vivid and intriguing, and the text had such a lovely decorative background. Another thing that I enjoy about this book is that it teaches young readers about endangered species and the genuine reasons why they are going extinct.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because there is nothing to dislike about it. I thought it to be educational, and I delighted in both the story's plot and the way it came to a close. Due to the fact that I did not discover any errors, I feel that it has been edited to perfection.
This is a book that I would recommend to children between the ages of 4 and 8 who have a passion for adventure and exotic animals.
