Even though we live in a world full of obstacles that might disrupt our daily lives and steal our joy, we should make the most of every moment by discovering and creating our sources of joy. It will also be a good idea to encourage our young ones to propagate their lives towards happiness, and this book, Spiker the Jumping Spider Learns about Joy: Joy is a Fruit of the Spirit by J. M. Ashmore, helps us achieve this.

Spiker the jumping spider and his friend Crispin the cricket were learning a new word, "joy." They wondered if they could try to be glad about something every day. They both could jump and they played a game to see who could jump higher. Spiker could make strings of silk, while Crispin could make chirping sounds. So, one day, a big storm came with thunder, lightning, and rain. Crispin informed Spiker, and they took shelter under a bird's nest. Reading this book, Spiker the Jumping Spider Learns about Joy, would enlighten you if they couldn't actualize their dreams of being glad of something every day.

This book starts with lovely pictures, which will be nice for children to see. I liked that Spiker suggested a game called “Let's Go Camping”, and that's creative. It would be enlightening for children to know that spiders and crickets had ants for snacks. I also liked that Spiker was ready to accommodate Sully, even though she was not a jumping spider. It was also nice of the author to add story questions, answers, and things to know about the book's characters, as it would benefit children. Lastly, there are a lot of moral lessons that children could be impacted by from this book.

I had no dislikes for this book, and I rate it 5 out of 5 stars considering the positives listed above. I didn't encounter any errors while reading this book, which proves it was perfectly edited. I recommend this book to children ages 5 to 8 because it is ideal for them.
