Little Stevie Tenderheart has the absolute best dreams in the world! While he sleeps, he uses outer space as his playground. He runs around Mars and Jupiter and never runs out of space. He has tasted rainbows (apparently they are very delicious) and even dreams up the idea of how books and paper are made. Stevie’s problem is he struggles to quiet his excited mind enough to go to sleep.

One day, Stevie writes a note and puts it in a special tree. He says he absolutely cannot fall asleep before he’s had two goodnight kisses from every animal and creature in his neighborhood. Luckily word spreads quickly and before he knows it there is a long line of animal friends waiting to help him fall asleep. Stevie Tenderheart Books A Second Kiss Goodnight (A Bedtime Story) by Steve William Laible is a creative way of getting your little ones to fall asleep.

The author started this book with a beautiful dedication to the children who will read it, and that instantly made me like the book. I also thought this was such a unique concept for a children’s book. I haven’t read many as an adult, only when I choose to review them for this website, but it is one of the more creative ones I have read.

The writing was very clear and simple, and the imagery included is a fantastic way to paint pictures in the reader’s mind as they make their way through the book. I enjoyed the humor included in the story, as it will make both children and parents alike chuckle. The book was exceptionally well-edited, as I found no errors whatsoever, and while reading and writing my review I could think of nothing negative to say about the story or the writing. So, for the reasons mentioned above, I happily rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I would recommend this book to parents looking for fun and exciting bedtime stories to read to their little ones. I believe it would be a great way to spend time with their children and get them to fall asleep. I think it would also be suitable for younger children who have just learned to read, as the writing is very simple and easy to understand, and the creativity in the story makes the book captivating.
