Stevie Tenderheart Books A Second Kiss Goodnight (A Bedtime Story) is another children’s bedtime story from Steve William. In this book, a young Stevie leaves a note about what would make him fall asleep faster. In his note, he said he needed two goodnight kisses from creatures and animals in his neighborhood every night. Stevie’s wish came true as a queue of animals and creatures grew every night at his place to give him goodnight kisses. Soon, monkeys leave rotting bananas under Stevie’s bed, baby spiders enter his nostril, and calves and giraffes leave creamy cud on Steve’s face as they kiss him. Did Stevie really make a wise decision?

I love the fact that the book is comical. Your kid won’t get bored reading this book. The animal drama in Steve’s room, such as eating socks and smelly animal kisses on Stevie’s face, would leave you chuckling profusely. Furthermore, within the fun story is an educational message. Kids and parents get to learn the importance of showing affection to one another through kisses. Also, through the story, young readers are encouraged to embrace cleanliness in both their bodies and rooms, and they are also taught to have good eating manners, unlike monkeys in the book.

Moreover, I applaud the author’s use of simple sentence structure. The font is also commendable. Although I am used to seeing illustrations in children’s books, this one does not have any, and I see no big deal about that because it’s a bedtime story that a parent will probably be reading to a kid. However, I didn’t see the relevance of including too many motivational quotes in the book. I don’t think kids will be interested in philosophical quotes.

The book was professionally edited, fun, and educational. The philosophical quotes were outside the story, so they won’t influence the book’s rating. Therefore, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. Stevie’s story will be so captivating to kids under eight years old.
