Chubby and Coco are wonderful ferrets. They get along so well with each other and spend their days having lots of fun. So, it was difficult for Chubby when he woke up one morning and couldn't locate his playmate, Coco. He searched for Coco everywhere, but she was nowhere to be found. Chubby is saddened and frustrated. Where could Coco have gone without even informing her buddy?

"Chubby Wubbles," written by M. J. Abrams, is a children's story based on true incidents. The story's central theme is the social needs of all creatures. We all need to commune with one another to satisfy this natural thirst. This is why Chubby feels sad and lonely when Coco is no longer around to play with him. Their owner, Mark, couldn't make Chubby's situation any better. He is always busy. This makes Chubby wish that Mark's brother, Jeffrey, could visit the house again, as Jeffrey always makes time to play with these ferrets whenever he is around.

I enjoyed the story, and I appreciated the straightforward narrative. The story contains some bits of suspense. I was very curious to know Coco's whereabouts. She couldn't just have all that fun with her playmate, Chubby, and just be gone the following morning. My mind was spinning. So many thoughts kept coming in. Could she have been stolen or what? Did she get out of the house in the middle of the night and lose her way? I think children will also be anxious to know Coco's fate.

The illustrations are impressive. They are colorful and add lots of details to the story. I believe children will be so fascinated by these cute ferrets. I didn't encounter any difficult words; the language is simple, making it easy for children to read and understand the story. Another thing I have to note is my liking for the character Jeffrey. He represents all those who go out of their way to give their pets the care and attention they deserve. It's great to see Chubby acknowledging his friendly disposition. By extension, I see Jeffrey as an ambassador for animal care and protection. Children will be amazed by his various interventions in this story.

There are just two typographical errors in this book, which shows that enough attention was paid to the editing. I am pleased to rate "Chubby Wubbles" 5 out of 5 stars for the captivating story, thoughtful message on animal care, wonderful illustrations, and exceptional editing. I didn't dislike anything in this story and found no reason to remove any stars from the rating. This story is recommended for children between the ages of three and nine.

Most children love animals and will easily identify with Chubby and Coco's struggles, especially when they got separated. Beyond this, the story teaches us to take better care of animals and that those who are unable to take proper care of pets shouldn't bother having them in the first place.
