Stevie Tenderheart Books - Billy Jack (The Great Escape) is a children’s book by Steve William Laible. It is one of Stevie's Bedtime Storybooks based on the sparkles of truth. They are kind and fabled tales of joy, as they are heartwarming and funny for the children. This book is an award-winning, remarkable, and charming tale about Billy Jack, who hatches and executes a plan of escape but faces various challenges and obstacles. It was normal for Billy Jack to go to bed in the daytime. However, one day after his parents put him to sleep, he hatched a plan—the great escape! He decided to sneak out through his bedroom window and play with his friends. There were unintended consequences that came to him fast and unimagined, but he later reflected on his adventure and recounted the good things.

I love the quotes in the book, as some provide a guide to a parent on how to raise their child. I noted the quote by Mark Twain as an essential one that states, “The two most important days in your life are the days you are born and the day you find out why." The first day in this quote, I’d say, is self-explanatory, while as for the second day, my question is, how do you find out why you were born? “Think before the act” is another commendable phrase in this book found in the afterword.

I have nothing to dislike about this book as a children’s book since it is a quick-read and brief book. It was also exceptionally edited, as I found no single error when I read it.

I rate this book five out of five stars. There is more than one reason for granting five stars. One such reason is the use of images by the author. The images are aesthetic, and as a result, they complement and provide additional context while engaging the senses of the reader and enhancing understanding. Further, the author explains some of the words to aid the reader in understanding this book.

This book is a good recommendation for children. It advocates the need to learn many life lessons along the way, which helps a child grow in wisdom. It shows that life is about creating memories through experiences. It encourages one to be a positive creative thinker, just like Billy Jack, who wanted to find something good about his great escape adventure.
