Stevie Tenderheart Books A Second Kiss Goodnight (A Bedtime Story) by Steve William Laible is an incredibly exciting children’s book based on a true story. This is the author's first children's book after he completed his published comic strip. This book contains no illustrations, contrasting with Laible’s previous works. Instead, the author encourages the children reading this book to use their vivid imaginations.

One thing I noticed about this book is the author’s use of amazing long lists and descriptions. I find them ideal for gaining an extensive vocabulary as a child grows older. Furthermore, Steve William Laible’s easy-going writing style is really engaging and fun and will most definitely appeal to children.

A phrase I loved early on in the book is as follows: “He loves to snuggle, deep down, inside his bed, pulling his covers up around his head. He tries to fall asleep as fast as he can because he loves to dream more than anything.” What a perfect description of me after a long day! It’s so adorably hilarious.

In conclusion, I rate this book 5/5 stars. I recommend Stevie Tenderheart Books A Second Kiss Goodnight to children over the age of 8. The book has complex sentence structures, which, as I mentioned earlier, can be very beneficial, but the lack of illustrations might not attract readers younger than the recommended age. Saying that, this book is a perfect match for readers over 8 years old. It’s so difficult to find a negative for this masterpiece, but you know, while drawings were purposefully left out, I still would’ve loved to see some. Back to the positives: this book is so well-written and engaging. To add to that, it’s an error-free, wonderful story detailing Stevie Tenderheart’s bedtime routine, and it will definitely hook any child reading it. I will be sure to suggest it to my younger siblings and cousins!
