Review of Toni the Superhero
Toni The Superhero is a children's book written by R.D. Base. In the book, we are taken on a journey through the interesting life of a young superhero, Toni. The day-to-day activities that Toni gets involved in are also revealed to us. The main character in the book, Toni, can serve as a role model for children to look up to. His hobbies are what we expect of children, and so by reading this book, children should be able to easily emulate Toni. It's a different case if the superhero is an adult. I think it would have made it a little bit more difficult for kids to look up to him. The author must have figured this out and then made the superhero also be a kid. It would definitely be much easier for the children to emulate the good behavior of someone in the same age bracket as them. They should now seamlessly look at Toni and have some kind of reflection on themselves in their own little way.
I give this book a perfect 5-star rating. I have no dislikes about the book. The illustrations were on point. The curvy lines near Toni's hand to indicate that he was waving at the reader and the straight lines around his body to indicate that he was flying were both on point. Also, on the page where Toni was swimming with his friends, I noticed that despite Toni's skin color being black, his friends were of mixed races. This would teach the kids to love, irrespective of skin color. This book would help reduce the number of racists we already have in our world, as it would implant pure love in our children. The book appears to be perfectly edited, as I found no errors while reading it. Also, the book is recommended for children. It can serve as a short bedtime story for them just before a long nap.
I like how the only times Toni took off his clothes were when he was running a race, when he was swimming, and when he was sleeping. The other times, he had his cape on all through, no matter the task he was doing at that time. Even when he was helping his mother out in the kitchen, he still had his cape on. When he was dusting the house, he still had his cape on. When he was sweeping, he had his cape on. This goes to show the children two things: that no matter their status, they must still remember to do the little they can to help out, and that the little good deeds they do will always count, regardless of how little they are.
