Unicorns Know Magic is a beautiful short story written by Charles Adkins and illustrated by Ros Webb. As we know them, unicorns are mythical creatures known to be beautiful and kind; in this book, the author employs these creatures to portray this interesting, lesson-filled story for children. Four unicorns from Mars move in next door to a family, and the children have many adventures with the animals.

This book was interesting, with essential lessons children could pick up, beautiful colors, and excellent rhyming. This book tells tales about the next-door unicorns and their interactions with the children, such as trips around the world they took and even dinner and songs. The unicorns had various talents that would intrigue the children; an example would be Abby, who could juggle fifty balls simultaneously. It had quite a beautiful rhyming flow, keeping children hooked and excited for the next page. The book's illustrations were another area of commendation; they were colorful and simple, and I believe children can easily recreate them for fun.

On the area of dislikes, the story seemed deficient in some areas; for example, they had arrived late on their way back from England, but more light needed to be shed on that. However, because it's a children's book, children wouldn't pick this out so easily. Besides that, I was impressed with everything about this book, and I cannot wait to read it to my siblings.

Unicorns Know Magic by Charles Adkins receives a rating of 5 out of 5 stars from me, as the dislike I mentioned above was mostly personal and could be done without. I encountered no errors in my reading, leading me to believe this book was exceptionally well edited. I recommend this story to children aged four to ten. It would serve as a good bedtime story.
