Farmer Beau and his wife Bamma own a little farm full of animals. They had all kinds of animals but seemed to have room for a few more. That is what the story is about. A kitten, a bunny and a giraffe find their way to the farm and eventually become good friends.

Farmer Beau's Farm by Kathleen Geiger is a cute children's book that provides a great lesson that can be applied to both family dynamics and friendships. At the beginning Kailey the kitten is the first to find her way to the farm. One day she stumbles upon Sammy the bunny and they become fast friends. They got used to each other's company so when they heard of a new animal coming to the farm they became worried.

The new animal was Malissa the giraffe. At first Kailey and Sammy were worried that Farmer Beau and Bamma wouldn't like them as much anymore and would spend more of their attention on Malissa. They also made fun of her when they first saw her, With sammy even laughing. They then realized she just wanted a home and to be their friend. In the end all three were friends and lived happily ever after!

Overall I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The lesson learned is great. I see the lesson as being not to be mean or jealous when someone new comes into your family or circle of friends. It's best to get to know that person and give them a chance. It reminded me of parents having a new baby and the other children having to get used to it. Another lesson would be learning to get along with one another. Even if someone is different you should never treat them as if they don't belong, or deserve friendship. Kailey and Sammy both realized the errors of their actions and quickly decided to do the right thing.

The only complaint I have about the book is that the Kindle format is a little strange, with the pictures and words not lining up correctly. They seemed a bit out of order. There was also a single error where Farmer Beau was spelled Farmer Bo. Other than that I enjoyed the book and recommend it for children that need some help adjusting to a new sibling. Another great way to utilize the book would be in a child is having trouble adjusting to having a new friend in their group of friends, this could be useful in helping them understand that sometimes friends just need to get along and everything will be fun.
