We all come into this life with different destinies, and when we begin to see the world, we can only hope for a future but have no control or say over what it holds. Paula Gehring-Kevish's The World According to Lindsey: Book 1 of the Courageous Kids Series tells the story of a little girl born with Down Syndrome.

We get to meet Lindsey Catherine Vassallo, who is a very special girl. The doctors told her parents that she would be a unique child when she was in her mother's stomach. The doctors said that Lindsey was going to have Down Syndrome, and her mom, Denise, did all kinds of research to prepare the family for her. Her mom told her family to learn basic sign language in case she decides not to speak when the time comes. Despite their issues, Lindsey had a big sister, Madeline, whom she saw as the most awesome big sister. When Lindsey was three, a lot started to unfold, which you can find out from reading The World According to Lindsey.

This book appealed to me as it comes from the perspective of encouraging and helping people, especially children, to see their differences or physical challenges as a source of strength, making the book stand out as unique. The book contains a lot of information that will enlighten children about things like diabetes, and the pictures help bring the book to life. There are a lot of moral lessons, like the importance of positivity and family support, and many more, that could benefit children from reading this book.

I have nothing to dislike about this book, and I am rating it 5 out of 5 stars because of the likes listed above. I also did not encounter any errors, which proves that the book was exceptionally well edited. I recommend this book to families with little children who need emotional support, as it provides hope for individuals with physical or emotional challenges.
