We have reached a point where we can’t live without our smartphones. What’s worse, through mobile apps, we willingly part away with massive amounts of personal data, thus exposing ourselves to identity theft. At the same time, we are constantly exposed to information, making it increasingly difficult to ascertain whether it’s real or fabricated.

In short, information plays a unique role in our lives. How we use it can either make or break us. Consider, for example, the information in the book Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul. This thought-provoking story involves Emma, an eight-year-old girl, the book’s lead character, and her family.

Emma and Bella, her six-year-old sister, are part of a close-knit family comprising three girls and their parents, Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul. They love to pray and read the Bible, the word of God. As expected, they experience God’s love, and this causes them to pray and read the Bible even more. Suddenly, one morning, Emma has a pleasant dream to share with her overjoyed and eager family!

I liked this book because it touched me. My summary above reminded me of the verse in James 4:8, which says, “draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” Don’t we go after mobile apps to give and draw from them information? Imagine how much better it would be to go to the very source of our lives and draw from Him love, wisdom, companionship, and eternal life. And unlike worldly information, of which we aren’t even sure whether it's real or fabricated, we can rely on the truthfulness of the Bible, as is presented in this little picture book for children.

I disliked nothing in this picture book. The book was exceptionally edited. Thus, I rated it 5 out of 5 stars.

As I conclude, this is a timeless book that will engage children of all ages. The story reveals the wonders of the new world that God promises to all His children. At the same time, it’s less suitable for someone who is strong-willed and not open to change.
