This book offers a fresh take on superheroes by showing that the ordinary act can be heroic. It does so by incorporating familiar situations and blending them with story telling to assist the young child when learning to read. Toni acts righteously in his everyday life by being nice, happy, and a role model of a hardworking kid. Many of the phrases used in the book are short and easily repeatable, thus making it very effective in enhancing the reading prowess of the young children. It subtly persuades people to embrace the different aspects of life that make them special.

Toni is the main character of the story, and it relates how talented he is as an individual that makes him stand out. This promotes acceptance and confidence, also putting children in a position to embrace and value their potential. Toni is also depicted as a believable superhero in the sense that superheroes have passionate interests just like most youth. This makes the book interesting as every child gets to see a new thing to be learned and discussed on the next page.

This book has eye-catching illustrations with bright and lively colors that I especially enjoy. Every move made by Toni in each scene is well illustrated, making the scenes interesting and entertaining to children. The illustrator has worked so well on this book. The author delivers an inspiring message: you do not need to be the biggest to be a hero in the stories that are being told. There was nothing particular that I did not like in this book; the author seems to understand what children like to read. Any child will be attracted by large pictures, and the pictures in this book are large, pictorial, and vibrant. Any child is bound to be preoccupied with such visuals. Yet another strong point of this book is that it is filled with short, clear sentences, which are ideal for keeping children with short attention spans. The book also does not have many pages, and there is also no way that children will be bored while reading it.

What makes this book exceptional is not just the fact that it is an error-free book, but importantly, it is a very rich tool for helping young children learn about such noble values as empathy, kindness, and responsibility. This book is fantastic for parents and early childhood educators; the lessons are conveyed in simple and entertaining manners. Thanks to its perfect and impeccable editing, “Toni the Superhero” is an outstanding book that undoubtedly deserves a 5-star rating.
