Oh, how I wish I would have had this book when my now grown children, with grown children of their own, started school! It is painfully difficult for a parent when their child takes that first big step of independence and leaves the safety and security of home and enters school for the first time. Add to that, the frustration of vague answers when asked about their day after being plunged into new experiences and being surrounded by new people.

As parents, we want to know every detail about our child's day, not once, but each and every day! What a beautifully written, book and useful tool to get children, at the very youngest of ages, talking about their day! The book is fun and easy to read but chock full of seemingly simple questions that will promote so much conversation. Be prepared for a rabbit trail of information coming from your typically tight-lipped little one while presenting the questions on the pages of this book.

Don’t wait until Pre-K or Kindergarten to begin this book. Set the standard of conversation in your home at a much earlier age. When started at a young age, this book would be a great cover-to-cover read to get children accustomed to talking about their day. The vivid, colorful pictures can be used as tools themselves to spark imagination and have children create their own depiction of the story unfolding on the pages. As our children reach 4th or 5th grade, these questions may have become so ingrained into daily conversation that they could easily have paved the way for ongoing conversation into the later years. What parent wouldn't love a tool to set the foundation for continued conversation?

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. There is not one thing I would change about this book, other than it was not written 40 years ago.

I did not note any grammar or spelling errors.
