TONI THE SUPERHERO
This is a book for early years learning written in simple sentences of three to four words. It's an ideal book for bedtime stories for babies and teaching young children to enjoy reading.
The book is about a young boy whom we are told is a superhero and the story tells us everyday activities he enjoys just like any little boy.
So if you are a parent, teacher, guardian and you are looking for ways to introduce the little ones to books and reading, this is an excellent book to start. The words are simple enough to understand, pronounce and can be used as a tool to engage the children in discussions. For example: ‘What activities do you like to do?’. It can likewise be utilised as an educational book in engaging little toddlers. Toni being a superhero will definitely appeal to the sense of adventure and fun of the toddlers. One can engage them in hours of energetic play and even use it to explain activities done around the house.
It can also be a tool in engaging the children in demonstrations of singing, dancing, jumping and other activities Toni enjoys to do. It is also a good book for bedtime stories as it is long enough to get the little ones to sleep and short enough for the parents to read in one sitting.
This book may not be suitable for older children from say four to five years old because they are expected to have grown and be able to comprehend more words in reading and putting together words. It just might bore them! But the activity part can still engage them.
Like all things involving children, it has colourful and vibrant pictures to depict the words written and capture the child's attention. The pictures paint the story well. I like the bright happy colours, the diagrams of Toni and the simple lettering. Thus, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because it hits all the right notes for me in a book for children. So if you want to start reading to your children or students, or you have already started and just want to add new books, this is a good book to start with. Depending on how energetic you are as an adult, you can get tons of fun, games and activities out of this book. Your little ones will love it!
