R F Kristi’s cat detective, Inca, is back for more fun in the seventh book in the series Serendipity Mystery, Diary of a Snoopy Cat. The story begins on a sunny June morning where Inca and her siblings Cara and Fromage are on vacation with their human mom on the beautiful and exotic island of Sri Lanka. The cats are enjoying every moment of their downtime, where there is plenty of time for ice cream cones, meeting new friends, and of course, a new mystery to solve!


Inca’s mom has planned plenty of fun outings for this vacation for her companions. Tours of tea plantations, museums, and ancient ruins await the furry fun- loving detectives. However, when a mystery arises, Inca and her pals must spring into action to help solve it. Will Inca and her crew be able to brave the dark nights and wild animals of the exotic island to solve the mystery? In this riveting tale of adventure, you will certainly find out.


This book is a delightful read for cat lovers young and old. This is marketed primarily for older children, but I think that anyone ages eight and up would enjoy this book, especially cat and animal lovers. This is skillfully written, well organized and edited. The illustrations are simple but appropriate, perfect for this book’s subject and intended audience. The mystery and adventure level are also suitable for children. It is exciting but not scary.


I rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars. I found one misspelled word, but it did not distract from the story. The storyline is great, the way the author describes the setting makes you really feel like you are there on Sri Lanka with Inca and her crew. Kristi adds a dash of culture as well, with the French origin story of the cats themselves and the description of the Sri Lanka tourist spots. The editing is well done, as are the illustrations.


In RF Kristi’s cat mystery, you get to experience a vacation on the island of Sri Lanka surrounded by ancient ruins and wild animals, and an intriguing mystery. This is a great book for animal lovers and mystery lovers alike. Inca and her cat detectives are smart and curious, friendly and brave. Anyone who is a child at heart will love to read the adventures of Inca and her crew of furry detectives.
