Inca & Company is an animal detective agency that deals in solving crimes. Their head being Inca, a cat detective. The agency comprises four cats, two dogs, and a hamster. They are based in Paris, France. This being the 7th book in the series, it can still be read as a standalone. Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat is a perfect children's book.

Inca has two siblings a brother, Fromage, and Cara, the sister, who help him unravel most mysteries. Solo and Terrance are the worlds best dog detectives and Charlotte is the intelligent hamster. Together with their human mother, they set out to solve crimes all over the world. The story is the diary of Inca; as she narrates their day by day experiences during their vacation in Sri Lanka. She goes into detail about how they spend each day, clearly highlighting the mornings, evenings and even the nights.

In particular, I like how they go about making friends of all kinds. They don't just stay by themselves in their cabin but go outside to mingle and explore. These new friends of theirs help them in their work in the process, and they have fun together whilst gaming. A good lesson for children to learn from. To relate to children and make friends anywhere they go. Friends build one's personality and help out in times of need. Another aspect I like is how the author incorporates the culture of the natives in the story. Introducing and discussing landmarks, historical sites, local people and even animals. The book is not only an entertaining children's book but also an informative and educative read. It is a good book for children aged 5-10, as it is a bit advanced for beginners.

The book is beautiful; written with wonderful illustrations and pictures. They are colorful and self-explanatory as the chapters match the pictures inserted. The font is artistic and easily captures the eye. An element of repetition is used that creates stress and emphasis hence mastery and understanding.

The author intended for this to be a learning book and I think he has achieved this. The learners will find the language simple and the sentences well constructed. If possible I could give this book a five notwithstanding, I rate it a 4 out of 4 stars. The book has minimal errors, and this can't affect the rating. I recommend this book to teachers and parents alike as it increases the knowledge of the children.
