[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Oh Susannah: Things that Go Bump: An Oh Susannah Story, Volume 2" by Carole P. Roman.]

The house makes creaky noises at night, doors slam, and there are spiders in the basement. She really liked her friend, Lola, but a sleepover at her house did not seem to be a good idea. Author Carole P. Roman tells the story of Susannah in her work of children’s fiction titled Oh Susannah: Things That Go Bump: An Oh Susannah Story Volume 2.

Susannah is feeling very nervous about the idea of spending the night at Lola’s creepy house. Lola is very excited about the sleepover, but her brother Kai enjoys teasing Susannah. This only furthers her reluctance. As Susannah’s day continues, she observes many teachers and students around her as they talk about their fears. Most of these things do not frighten Susannah, and as the night of the sleepover draws closer, she begins to consider the possibility of facing her fear.

This story is fun and entertaining with interesting, relatable characters. Many children struggle with imaginative fear. This is a story that addresses these issues in a gentle and, in many ways, fun manner. Children ages five to eight would enjoy listening to an adult as they read this story to them, and children ages nine to ten would enjoy reading this story. This interesting tale will keep young readers’ attention through to the end. This book creates a fun way to teach children about acceptance, kindness, and the importance of facing your fears.

This book is skillfully written, organized, and edited. The story is told with simple and understandable language. There is one minor grammar error in the text. The story comfortably flows from one scene to the next making it pleasant to read, and it is sure to inspire young imaginations.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The cover of this book is beautifully illustrated. This will delight young readers. This is a well-written story with a purpose. The themes and lessons of acceptance and the importance of facing your fears are clear and presented in an understandable way. Reading this story to or with children will help parents and teachers start conversations about issues that children cope with today. Furthermore, this is a fun and entertaining story that the entire family can enjoy together.

Aw! This one sounds so cute! I love the idea of a children's book about facing your fears. It's best to learn that early because you still have to do that as an adult. Love the cover, too! Thanks for the information.

Sounds like an interesting story that can be told to kids. I like the fact that it's written is some language which makes comprehension easy for children. Good review.
