The Blue Sea Monster Terrorizing Palm Beach is a children’s book written by Norma Fleagane, a businesswoman from Ohio. She was assisted by her husband, James, and son, Ward.

The book is about Sneaky, the sea monster that terrorizes the coast of Palm Beach. At night, he comes out to look for children, and then kidnaps them. These strange happenings have continued for a while until Blake and his grandfather decided to do something about it. So they planned to scare the monster away from the parking lot; the bushes; and the beach. Then, they tried to rescue the children while Sneaky was away at a monsters’ convention in another city in the Bahamas.

The hero, Blake, is admired for his courage and initiative of suggesting ways to scare the monster away; whereas children of his age would have been very frightened. Moreover, his playmate, Hudson, was among the kidnapped children.

Great lessons can be learnt from this book: the need to be brave like little Blake; the dangers of roaming at night; the effectiveness of teamwork; and the importance of helping those around us.

Besides, children can easily identify household items such as cooking utensils and different pieces of furniture (e.g. tables and chairs). And it would be fun seeing monsters smiling, wearing sunshades and hats, and even taking cocktail drinks.

However, the book is not suitable for children under age of six because some of the graphics might easily crystallize their fear of monsters. But children of seven-years-old and above will enjoy reading this book.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars: it is concise, children-centred, and well-illustrated. Unlike some other books in this genre, it is free of grammatical errors. Parents can buy it for their timid children so that they too can become brave like Blake.

The cover wasn't perfectly illustrated. But other things are acceptable. Thanks for such a nice review!

I only wish adults will develop interests in reading such well-written books even if it meant for children.
