I'm enjoying 'The Snow Child'. At times it is hard to read, given the subject matter. But overall I would recommend it. It makes you think about life, death, survival, and family.

I have to admit I couldn't put it down, even though I hate sad endings. Masterfully written book.

Just popped the kettle on and about to download 'The Snow Child' on my kindle. Looking forward to it.

Sounds really good cant wait to read it.

I enjoyed The Snow Child. The descriptions of the Alaskan wilderness really drew me in and increased my need to visit Alaska. I liked the mix of reality and the surreal, and I love the character of Faina and the way she grew during the story. I like endings that leave the reader guessing. I have already recommended this book to several friends. Great read.

Sadly, I haven't read this book, but after reading all this I think that it is next up on my list!

Thank you for choosing this as the book of the month. I don't think I would have read it otherwise and that would have been such a shame. It’s a fantastic read. The characters were so very real and three dimensional. The author added the perfect mix of realism to the fairy tale, and the descriptions of the Alaskan wilderness – Oh I could almost feel the snow fall softly on me. Time to add Alaska to my list of places to visit.

I know some people didn't like the ending and the unfinished mystery, but for me, that was the most impressive part of the book. The ambiguous ending had me thinking about Faina long after I had put down the book.

I really enjoyed reading this bittersweet tale and found it difficult to put down. It was very tempting to pull an all-nighter to finish it last night. The story was engaging and gave me many things to think about. I would recommend it to others for reading but would hint that they may need a tissue or two to get through it.

This is a 3 for me. I wouldn't read it again, and I'd hesitate to recommend it to some people, but I do think it was decent enough.

I had very high expectations going in, and I felt pretty disappointed in the end. The romance subplot was unexpected (for me anyway, though I guess I should just learn to expect romance subplots in everything!) and I felt that it took away from a lot of the mystery of the story.

I loved this book to the extent I recommended it to my book club. It opened up one of the liveliest discussions we had in a very long time. Everyone enjoyed the book even though it was a fantasy, or was it?

I've recommended it to my book reader friends and they have since read & loved it, or have put it on their to read lists.

I enjoyed this book up until the very end. I thought it was a good plot and I liked the characters, but it felt unfinished for me. I was left with questions. I loved the was the author writes, the words were truly beautiful and it was a Fantattic story and I rated it 3 out of 4 stars.

Mabel's constant whining ruined the book for me. I would have liked the story far better if she had been left out completely. Otherwise, I thought it was a first-rate novel. I dreaded seeing Mabel's name, because I knew that it meant more whining and sniveling.

I've never before given much thought to the gender of authors, but I now realize that novels written by females are seldom suitable for my tastes. The only notable exceptions I can think of are Ayn Rand and Patricia Highsmith. I cannot tolerate whining people in books or in the real world.

I enjoyed reading the book and I was totally immersed in reading the story. I haven't read too many books in the magical realism genre, but I like this one. However, the ending could have been stronger.
