The book which focuses on invasion and colonization of Ireland by the English during the seventeenth century looks quite interesting. Thanks for your insightful review.

Don't I know just how the pacing can make reading a long historical book a daunting task, especially when it spans 50 years. Your review makes this part of Ireland's history intriguing. Almost tempted to reach out!

Great review!

I agree to the part where you feel the story is dragging, because more than often that is annoying and makes you lose interest really quick. Nonetheless, this seems like a good read. Thank you for this well-written review.

I don't know as much as I should about that time period in Ireland, and I would like to learn more. This sounds like an interesting way to do that, in spite of the pacing issues. Thanks for the informative and well-written review!

Great review. Books with over 400 pages tend to have many characters and slow build up. Based on your review, it would be an interesting read. Thanks.

"Ferret struggles with many moral dilemmas, including how to effectively lead while still allowing individual freedoms, and how far he can justify his actions in order to support a noble cause."

This has me very interested in the story. It seems to have a lot of depth, seeing as it also shows the perspective of the English and the differences in culture. Thanks for pointing that out in this lovely review!

This is really strange name. Perhaps this is because he was just a descendant of the old kings, and not a real king who sits on the throne and does other royal things.

Anyway, thank for great review.

I really do enjoy historical novels highlighting factual wars. Irish resistance to English colonization sounds to fascinate me but the book length might make me look elsewhere. Thanks for this fun-to-read review.
