Nice review. I am compelled by this stunning review to read this book even though I'm not a fan of historical fiction novel. I just hope the story will answer the answers in the review in the positive so that the story will not end up being a tragedy.

Historical fiction lovers should grab this engaging novel set around the time of the German occupation of Italy. In this book, readers will meet interesting and layered characters like Francesca, Roberto, Carlo, etc.

War stories based on real life historical times really capture my interest. Gives me a look into the past from a more fanciful perspective. I really have not followed Rome's occupation by Germany closely and this will give me an opportunity to get some perspective. A really insightful review.

I don't usually read novels like this book. But, the OBC review mentioned enough aspect that I would want to see in what I read. I'll definitely check the sample to see if I would enjoy reading this one.

War novels and movies are my thing. The only unrealistic event in this story is that U.S. through Eisenhower is seen playing an active role in the WWII war. Thanks for the great review.
