I love historical fiction novels with illustrations. It's more fun to read it when pictures are provided. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the history of the Great Sioux War.

I would read this as a historical fiction book. Joshua Tremaine learning a new language and creating a friend in the west is an interesting story. I have high hopes for this book. Congratulations on BOTD

I think the historical accuracy is the most wonderful thing for me in this book. There will be no confusion as to what happened and it will be good to learn some history from it.

This seems to be a well-written historical fiction inspired by the Great Sioux War of 1876; as you mentioned, the characters are also developed well by the author. Thank you for the review!
The disappearance of the word "I am" is indeed the highest happiness! :)

Hi there. I absolutely enjoyed reading your review. It is so well-written and your attention to detail throughout the novel is inspiring. I'm also in the process of reading this novel and you have made me look forward to reading until the end. I love how you mention the strength of the characters and the authors attention to time and place. I'm interested in knowing where you're from? I live in South Africa and I wish our state was similar to yours in being committed to the revival of our history
