Reading a book about good Germans who lived among Hitler's Nazis and did not detest the Jewish population is refreshing. Thank you for your review.

One of the worst times in history told through a young woman’s perspective-captivating. This seems worth the read! Congrats on BOTD!

Although I am not interested in the Second World War, this novel paints a clear picture of the events in Nazi Germany during this period. It follows the members of an Aryan family and their struggles. Thank you for this review.

This book, "Once We Were Family: In Nazi Germany", explores a significant period in history. Life becomes exceptionally hard when we get forced out of the familiar into the unfamiliar, especially when there are no guarantees. Annalise and her family experienced this and more. The review got me curious and I will like to know how it ended for them. Good review. Congratulations to Nancy Saling Graham on BOTD.

This is the kind of book I like to read. The title itself already hit very hard for me because in World War II the first country the Nazi invaded was Germany. The Klaus family's struggle is a story worth reading. Thanks for the review.

The life of non-Jewish Germans during the Nazi regime is an often overlooked yet fascinating subject.
This seems like a must-read for history buffs like me.
Great review!

It is good that characters are distinguishable. I'm a hard sell on ww2 stories. This was excellent and informative review.

Books set in Nazi Germany are always hard to read, I love them because they are filled with emotion.

Your take on "Once We Were Family" only affirms my wanting to be absorbed in this book. Reading the sample, I was so anxious as young Annalise pretended to be her best friend's younger sister. I can see the making of well rounded characters also, including one I can barely stand by just a few sentences. Thank you for your review.

A novel about a family coping with the situation in Nazi Germany brings us to the middle of a really dark period of recent history showing how the various family members face the choices they have to make. Thank you for your great review!

A fictional family drama novel "Once We Were Family" by Nancy Saling Graham, which follows the life of Annalise Klaus, a German lady, and her family through the World War. This is a interesting book.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

For the longest time, I have been following the Nazi community and am interested to learn about their doctrines and philosophy. Am also happy that the author has addressed other issues like war and racism.

Nice review. It seems like no amount of fiction can truly capture the true cruelty experienced by people under Nazi occupation. The fact that the reviewer talks of being teary-eyed says a lot. Would add this book to my reading list.

I usually do not like to read historical fiction, because I am not very interested in history. However, I read the free sample of this book and was sad that it ended so quickly. The review of this book makes me want to finish the story even more. I hope I can read the whole book soon.
