'Once We Were Family: In Nazi Germany' takes readers on a riveting journey through the trials of the Klaus family during the Nazi occupation. The book excellently intertwines familial dramas with historical realities. A highly engaging read for those who appreciate the interplay of history and fiction. Congratulations on being BOTD!

As I read about the difficult lives of people who were full with emotions in the review, the story looks depressing. Your review is excellent, and it has made me eager about reading the book. I appreciate the excellent review.

Deep and meaningful. There is treasure to find within the pages of Once We Were Family. The writing style and narration is wonderfully done, I found myself seeing the images of the descriptions made through feeling and views. Just by reading the sample captivated me, and I appreciate the manner the writer brought the pages to life. Thanks for the Lovely review.

Seeing Germany turn under the Nazi party and the war must be ravishing for a family. This sounds like a book I would enjoy. Congrats!

It must have been very traumatic for Annalise and her family to personally witness the invasion of the Nazis on the Jews.
I would love to know what happened to Hans and the twins.
Thanks for the amazing review and congrats to the author.

This is a very insightful review, and I fully agree with all comments and rating of the reviewer. I have sampled this book, and I have also found the characters very well-developed, the language very easy to read, and the plot very atmospheric. I also agree that this book will delight fans of family drama, especially those who are interested in the history of Nazi Germany and World War II.

I loved how the book included a distinguished storyline for each of the siblings. It warmed my heart to read that some good-hearted Germans did the right thing to help the Jews in need. Thank you for writing such a captivating review! Congrats on BOTD!

Family drama always follows any war torn country. Families are torn and everyone chooses their own path. It doesn't get easier especially for the woman of the house.

I have only encountered Nazis in history and documentaries. It is so creative that Nancy exposes who they really were in a fictional way, and I prefer history told this way because it makes you visualize events from different angles revolving around the protagonist. Nice review.

I would really love to see what kind of life ANNALIZE KLAUS' family had to live and how they were able to tackle the challenges they faced. And I love history kind of books, and this one that deals with a family story, I will give it a try.

Having to uphold good moral standings in a society where almost everyone has been indoctrinated and brainwashed to follow evil ideologies must have been a tough task for the Klaus' family. This seems like a great historical fiction.

While I love Historical Fiction books normally and clearly understand that World War II is a huge milestone of our past, I still find it in myself to read about the Nazi regime and the atrocities they committed. Unfortunately, I will have to pass this one, but would like to congratulate on BOTD all the same!

I am intrigued to read how Annalise and her siblings deal with Nazi indoctrination, how and if they can resist. I find the book cover calling out to me, it's a very emotional drawing.

We don't often read or hear about World War II from the German perspective. Because it involves so many painful scenes, the story is extremely emotional. In the end, it demonstrates that not all Nazis were cold-blooded killers.
As long as there is a concept of victors, the vanquished will always exist.
