The Young Samaritan by J Shuyler Sprowles

Post by Jabulile Mahlangu 1 »

A young and brave man is forced into manhood by circumstances that do not favor him . In his journey he finds faith that can only make him a much stronger man. Questioning who God is in our lives has always led us to unconventional paths and thats exactly the exciting part about young Joshuas life.

A brave young Joshua, with a sense of humour like no other , has an incredible love for his family. Especially now that his father is no more, he feels a sense of responsibility towards his mother and siblings. He is indeed a very responsible and respectful boy unless ofcourse you are the step father. The man is a lazy and rude member of the family particularly to Joshua.

As his mother makes him aware of the fact that the only reason this man is still in their lives, is simply because the land they live in belongs to him. This only devastates Joshua . His mother explains to him that he will be fine. Everything will be fine.

When he wakes up the next morning he realises he finds his mother terrified and shaking asking him to move out because Langer wants him dead. He was wine stricken and mad. This ordeal forced the family to part ways with Joshua prematurely. His mother was debated and so was Joshua As well as his siblings . He successfully ran away from home and found a life in faith . You know what they say. " All things work for the good of those who love the Lord".

The book proves and highlights what I have always disagreed upon. Women who choose men over their offspring. The toxicity in keeping a man like this can only lead to a family that will split apart. Joshua was not protected as he should have been . He was a child but then again it all turned out well in the end.

A great read. Exquisite pages of adventure and mystery . I anticipated Joshua destiny throughout the book and that was awesome. A 5 out of 5 rating because of its ability to keep me nailed to the pages.
