I don't think this book is up my alley, but it's got an interesting mix of topics and it seems to be a must-read for anyone who wants to know more about Canada and Canadian culture. I especially don't know enough about the Church there and how it operates - that might be worth looking into, at least, as your review hints at something going on beneath the surface. This seems like a wonderful book to read, based on the review. I'm not sure about the hockey part, as some readers may not be that interested in sports; but I believe it adds to the story and may change one's outlook in sports, at least hockey.
