Icon The Havens Raid by Greg Hunt

The Havens Raid by Greg Hunt was free from smashwords. I am a big Western fan and have enjoyed his Ridge Parkman series. Have to enjoy a great plot with a handsome young tough honest lawman.
This starts with him returning from duty to find a fellow lawman hanging from a tree. He has to bury him and inform his boss Lott. He finds that the deceased was one of two that did not return from a posse.
After meeting with the family and receiving a demand for 2 prisoners to be released an arrest and jail break is arranged so Parkman can get into the Havens to attempt a rescue. The only way into the Havens is guarded and he needs the 2 outlaws for entrance.
The Havens is controlled by a sadistic outlaw. He charges outlandish prices and has his own laws that must be followed. Parkman agrees to join the criminal gang and enlists the help of a mistreated Mexican whore Maria.
With her help he was able to have his fellow lawman escape hours before he was to be killed. His boss Lott shows up with a crowd to capture all the others that had been using the Havens to escape from the law. A good book with a great plot and unbeatable free price.
