I was very confused as to who the characters are and what their significance is to the story. I also felt like the summary didn't really tell me anything about the story. When you write a review you have to remember the audience hasn't read the book and it felt like you forgot that.

indeed gender roles and racism are major universal issues that affected the human race way before we were born and even today they still affect us. i am so glad that this novel covers such issues. the author has done a great job developing the characters and making them believable.

Even though this is a sequel, reading the sample pages and the review make me want to read the series from the first. The character Natalie was likeable, although her role in the death of Alex was surprising. The review was thorough.

The book sounds interesting. It dwells on pretty serious topics like racism, gender roles, and social class inequities which require quite a lot of hard thinking. Besides I like that the author while maintaing the first person narrative managed to convey the different feeling and emotions. It will be interesting to read this book. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Just like Ironbark Hill failed to catch my interest, I don't think this book will fare any better with me. It is again all about abuse, loss and emotional trauma. Really not my cup of tea, so unfortunately I will have to pass it. Congrats on BOTD!

I just have to say that you have delivered a wónderfully written review. It is well conveyed that this Is a "character-driven" novel with excellent writing. Thank you.

I tried reading the first book some time back and it wasn’t really my cup of tea. I’m glad the author wrote a sequel though because it sounds like many are enjoying this series.

This sounds like a great read. I wondered if the different points of view in the narration would be confusing but it sounds they only added to the effectiveness of the storytelling. Thanks for such a thorough review.

I enjoyed reading Ironbark Hill. I like that while this sequel focuses on Natalie again, the POV switches between her sisters perspectives as well. We didnt really get to know them in the first book, hoping to do so in this one!

I love the sound of this book. The narratives of each character sounds interesting. I really like that age quote! What a delightful way with words! I am very much excited to read both this book, and the first Ironbark Hill. Thank you for the review.
