The BOTD reveals a mystery that draws two women together as they seem answers. As this is a book that makes racial Injustice a key point, I don't think it is for me. I don't feel that there is such as thing as White privilege and don't read books about them.

The character Effie, sounds amazing and very inspiring. Never giving up even after going through so much in such A young age, sounds really inspiring. And I like books with realistic and well-developed characters.

I also enjoyed the way all characters lead to Fern. Your review managed to give just enough information to get someone interested, yet not give away too much. Great job.

Thank you for the great review. I enjoyed how the author wrote the sample I read. Effie seems very proud and self-assured, even when she actually isn't. I liked how we learned things along with Effie. I'm curious to know what they discover. I believe I will add this to my list of books to read sometime since reading your review.

Your review is very thorough, and after reading the sample of the book I agree with your comments about the authors ability to paint a detailed picture with great character development. I do wish in this review you wouldn’t have given spoilers about Ferns past as that’s something that is likely a big part in the storytelling and now I already know :/

This book addresses the issue of racism and being biracial in a time when one could only be White or Colored. It is intriguing to know the things that happen in the sanatorium and if Effie and Fern will be able to discover all the truths and dark secrets of the institution. Sounds interesting.

This sounds like a great book to read. I like the fact that none of the characters is redundant. Fern must be one intriguing character and I'm curious to know the suspense and drama associated with her. Beautiful review.

An expository review that vividly captured the historical scenes and the resilience of the main characters. Fern and Effie's life stories jived about injustice, racism, and the smoky Pandora's box in some healthcare facilities that is being doubted and debated today. Their friendship connivingly disclosed The TRUTH TOGETHER.

Whenever there is historical fiction to read, it always drag the attention of readers. But the book seems to be justifying its title, " The Truth Together ", by gathering all the true sufferings of colored people from the history and putting it together as a fiction. Nice review. I would love to read the book.

"The Truth Together" by Kelly Rodgers sounds like a captivating historical fiction novel, exploring themes of resilience, human cruelty, and societal injustices. The author's descriptive writing style brings the era to life, and the intriguing connections between characters add to the suspense. I'm drawn to the alternating timelines and the deep exploration of the characters' stories. Definitely adding this book to my to-be-read list!

Took place in the 1900's. 2 teens with very rough lives. Effie was born a slave & Fern lost her Mom and unborn Son. From the sounds of it, Sounds like Effie wants to befriend Fern. Want more of the book!!

I am not very interested in historical fiction. But after reading the review, I am a bit curious of how the scene in the book is described. An informative review, triggering reader's curiosity.

"The Truth Together" by Kelly Rodgers. An interesting book, talks about Alonzo Herndon, who was born a slave and as well life was difficult for him just because of the colour of the skin. Although his daughter Effie Herndon had same fate but she was determined and went through nursing school to be a nurse. The story is must read and the author's writing style is entertaining, giving so much details of everything. Congrats on your #BOTD.
