The Early Years of ‘Squirt’ Malone review is very well-written, as is the sample itself! In fact, I am considering reading it out loud to my husband while he carves. He loves history, and the book begins in Denton, Texas, just north of where we live in Dallas. I look forward to enjoying this book!!

Life treats people differently; for some, everything is given to them on a platter of gold, while for others, they have to struggle and toil for what they need, and John Squirt Malone falls under the second category of people.

This is a spot on review in many ways but the reading from the book was not flawless. Punctuation aside, there were words left out or incorrectly written (3 on page 1 alone) Passives also proliferated. The book could not have been professionally edited. The review gets 3 out of 4 from me. As for the story itself, I agree that it is an interesting and easy read. Comes across as an autobiography. Gives a great glimpse into life in that era. Squint is an unlikely hero a reader can identify with. Great book of the day and I'm sure many will want to grab this book to read. I believe a reviewer may sometimes want a really good story to be read and may write a very good review that softens the bad and promotes the good. I would do the same for this great story. Well worth a read.

When I read the sample of the first few pages I assumed this was a non-fiction book. Now I am intrigued to see what happens when wrestling comes to town. Great review of the book.

Leaving his parents at the age of twelve shows how determined and dedicated John Malone was, and the latter shows he was as successful in professional wrestling as he had aspired to be. Congratulations on BOTD!

I think i saw the reviewer mentioned Gold Dust. Is this book in one way or the other related to him. And since this involves wrestling I think it will be a great source of motivation and entertainment to us the youths.

“The Early Years of ‘Squirt’ Malone” by Richard W. Kelly is a story about John ‘Squirt’ Malone and his pursuit of a career in the world of professional wrestling. After seeing a wrestling event at a carnival that came through town John was convinced that wresting is what he wanted to do. He left his family at age 12 to pursue his goal. The story is loosely based on the Gold Dust trio. This is an interesting book that flows like a storyteller sitting next to the reader and telling the story. I am adding this book to my Reading Shelf. Very good review, even though the official reviewer found numerous punctuation errors, the book received a 4 out of 4-star rating.

I really thought this book was an autobiography until I saw the genre saying historical fiction. From the sample I have read it seems like an interesting book, his interest in wrestling after watching Andrew the farmer was his turning point in his life and made him pursue it and be successful in it.

A historical fiction about wrestling sounds very interesting. I like watching wrestling. But I have never found a book about the inside workings of professional wrestling. And the writing style seems unique and compelling as per the review.

The story of John is truly captivating, and I'm genuinely eager to delve into it. Additionally, I have a keen interest in reading historical fiction, particularly those set in the world of wrestling. From the review I perused, it appears that this book would be an excellent choice for me.

Though it is a historical fiction book, it fabulously depicts the journey of professional wrestling from its earlier days, and the narrative style seems fabulously interesting.

I'll admit that I'm not a wrestling fan at all, but when I read the sample, it was difficult to stop. For this historical fiction book, the writing style really draws you in to the life of 'Squirt'. Great review!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting historical fiction story following John Malone who becomes infatuated with Wrestling he saw at a carnival and decides to become a wrestler. Set during the carnival era of America, will John make his dream come true? It might be worth a second look. Well done.

From a farm boy to a professional wrestler, is impressive. It shows hard work and dedication.
If you like books written from the first-person point of view, then this book is for you.
- Written from a first-person point of view or any other, makes no difference to me if the storyline is captivating. Thank you for a super fine review.
