There was no available sample to read on Amazon, but I enjoyed reading the review. I can't imagine being a soldier at the young age of fourteen. I'd be interested to learn how Jeremy transitioned from a soldier to a medical apprentice and witness the friendship between Jeremy and Roger, the redcoat from the opposing troops. I'm intrigued by this historical fiction book.

I like that the story has 3 protagonists, Jeremy, Roger, and Doc Thorndike, because that increases the dynamism. However, I'm not very excited about reading a story set in 1775. I like war stories but sometimes they are too insipid. Maybe I'll read it later. Thanks for the review.

The protagonist's action to not take the shot was truly remarkable. But I'm not into war stories. Thank you for an amazing review!

This historical fiction novella seems like it is written well in the realistic portrayal of actions and beliefs during the American Revolutionary War. Great review!

This sounds like a great historical fiction novel. The review contains so much detail and the plot sounds palpable and intriguing. Boy soldiers in the 1700s among other things? A good topic for someone to shed some more light on. I congratulate the author for a job well done.

I love historical reading, but better the love plot than war, but this one seems to be very interesting.

Have you ever been in a situation where what you thought was simple begins to overwhelm you? That was the case with young Jeremy. I wonder how he was able to overcome. Congratulations to the author on winning book of the day.

Your review stated everything I needed to know without giving away to much. I think I would like this one. I enjoy seeing both sides.

Although history is full of mindless battles in blood, it becomes rare when a conscious finger takes up the shot. Worth a read!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting historical fiction set during the Revolutionary War and follows a young boy, Jeremy, who must make a decision as to whether to shot an enemy combatant. Not firing at the enemy sparked a series of consequences that Jeremy would not have foresaw. What are these consequences? It might be worth a second look. Well done.

This sounds like a historical fiction I could really get into. I can't wait to meet Jeremy, Doc, and Roger, and follow them on their journey. The 1700s were a fascinating time period, and this book stays fairly accurate to the actual events.
This review does a wonderful job promoting this novel.

Not a fan of historical fiction myself, but of war stories. So I might give this one a try. Very thorough review and great pick for BOTD.

This was a wonderful review. I couldnt read something like this because I become over emotionally involved in novels like this but it sounds like a very well written nonetheless. I downloaded it and will give it a try. I'm not sure I will be able to push through and read this or not. Either way, I would like to try. If I succeed, I will update my comment.

After the riveting sample I wanted to know more. Thanks for an informative review. 4 out of 4 for that. This is obviously based on history but is written in such an interesting way with real characters having experiences that draw one into the story. Also wonderful descriptions make the text come to life. Well done for BOTD. Another interesting read.

The portrayal of Jeremy's character in this historical fiction seems splendid, and I would love to know how Jeremy resolves his dilemma of choosing between the war and his passion.
