From a sampling, this seems like an interesting historical fiction/adventure story about a young archaeologist/explorer that survives an assassination attempt and that is going to travel to the Lost City on a ship. While traveling she meets a warrior with secrets of his own and a mission to protect his cultural artifacts. There might be more dangers that lie in wait on her path both in the sea and at the city. Will she find what she is looking for? It might be worth a second look. Well done.

This action-packed adventure novel seems to have an enjoyable storyline. Antosha Scarlett's past seems darker than I imagined. I'm glad the assassin didn't get her. I'm very curious to find out about her past and how she survives it.
Insofar as the word 'should' even has meaning, then we must say that the past is exactly as it should be, everything that happened should have happened, and everything that should happen will happen

First, congrats on the BOTD! Although this sounds intriguing, I'm not quite sure this is the book for me. It sounds interesting but also sounds familiar. I'm definitely going to take a look and try to give it a read. The review and comments seem familiar. Otherwise it sounds fun. I love humor books.

Antosha's expenditure sounds like an advantage and disadvantage I think Antosha will make it out of the lost city safe.

Though this is quite a lengthy book, it see very enjoyable with good pacing, humour, action, and adventure aspects. I like stories featuring lost cities and ancient places. I would like to try this out too.

Not What Meets the Eye is a very attractive title and the plot seems interesting too, but I’m not sure I’m ready to commit to a 700-pager at the moment. Congrats on the BOTD!

Not What Meets the Eyes is a thrilling action packed novel notwithstanding it's lengthiness. Great review!

"Not What Meets the Eye" by Matrika Hay. An interesting action-adventure fictional novel, that tells about Antosha who barely escape the attack while returning on a ship. Having a trip to lost city where she lost her parents. The story is a must read. Congrats on your #BOTD.

Thank you for a well written review that talked me into getting the book. I very much appreciate the heads up about the lack of a table of contents, because I agree- at the length that it is, a table of contents is very helpful. Mucgh harder to go back and find a section you may want to reread.

Matrika Hay seems to be very creative,
entertaining, imaginative adventure fiction writer. Surviving an attack and facing a lot of issues and some humour mixed conversations seems to be a very engaging plot . I am curious. You have written the review so well without giving away too much. Congratulations on the BOTD!

Great presentation. Sadly I'm not into fantasy fiction at the moment so will have to pass on this one. But congratulations on being listed as Book of the day.

I read a sample of the book and I must say it immediately grabbed my attention. The authors descriptiveness is immaculate. However, this is not a genre I normally read, I'm rather excited to start with it. Thanks for a wonderfully detailed review.
