Historical fiction genre is awesome for me, plus it's also character driven. Nice review.

I love historical fiction stories for their ability to teach it rather inform the reader about historical occurrences. The political rift between Palestine and Israel is historic. In this action-packed, thrilling historical fiction, the author tells of Irith an Israeli and Jamal a Palestinian who form a friendship and the hurdles they face, beyond their control. I do hope that their friendship withstood the trying times and inspired others. Thank you for a wonderful review.

This sounds like quite a fascinating read. The reality alone is intriguing, but the characters seem enjoyable as well. Thank you for your review.

I’m not really interested in the themes in this book, so I’ll pass. It sounds like a good book for anyone who likes this genre.

I love historical fiction and I love the concept of a school that advocates for peace, even when peace seems unattainable. This sounds like one I definitely need to add to my list!

I like the premise of this book; music is a such a powerful tool in bridging the gap between people.

But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead...The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

The author has cleverly brought to light the tensions between Israel and Palestine by using the boy's different ethnic backgrounds.
What I most like is that he adopts music as a means to unify the two groups and you can almost certainly feel attached when the boys try to withstand the conflict.
A nicely written review and congratulations on BOTD

This appears to be a very interesting story with two teenagers as the main characters. Unfortunately, it is not a book I'd love to read. Congrats on BOTD!

The synopsis, the sample, this wonderful review... I'm hooked! Israel-Pakistan tensions are something I want to learn more about, and this seems like an entertaining and personal way to do so. Viewing this conflict through teenagers' eyes is intriguing as well. Thanks for the recommendation!

I appreciate the style of writing and the historical relevance of the sample I read for BOTD. Even though it isn’t likely that this particular book is one I would read in its entirety (solely because I enjoy a particular sort of historical fiction) I feel that those who enjoy a well developed historical fiction piece would enjoy this work. I am intrigued by your mention of using music to bridge gaps. Music is very powerful! Great review and congratulations to the author on their BOTD nomination!

The story seems both intricate and intriguing. The different perspectives and angles the narrative takes is also compelling. I am drawn to the book and might take it up. Great review!
